Fall 2021 Update: The AU Shuttle is reserved for AU students, faculty, and staff for the fall 2021 semester.

From the Tenleytown/AU Metro stop on the Red Line, use the East Exit for the M4 bus. Disembark at Nebrasksa Avenue and Ward Circle to reach the museum.


Metered parking in the Katzen Arts Center is $2 per hour, payable via kiosk on level P1 or by phone, 8AM-5PM on weekdays. Both credit cards and cash are accepted. Remember your license plate number before leaving your car to pay. Parking is free on weekends, holidays, and weekdays after 5PM.

Please park in general parking spaces, not reserved or visitor parking.

Museum Store

The museum store offers a selection of books including the American University Museum's exhibition catalogs, arts and crafts, and a variety of merchandise, much of which is derived from the museum's collection and special exhibitions. All items are carefully chosen for their educational and aesthetic quality in keeping with the museum's mission of enhancing visitor appreciation of the visual arts, both locally and internationally.


Museum members enjoy 10% off of their purchases.

AU students, staff, and faculty get a 10% discount on all regularly priced merchandise at the museum store at all times. Current AU ID is required at the time of purchase. Discount only applies to regularly priced merchandise.
