Established in 1947, the Washington Semester Program pairs academic and experiential learning with an internship at one of D.C.’s many influential institutions. Receive academic credit and:

Program Costs

Estimated Tuition (per semester)

$22,023 (12-17 credits) for full-time undergraduate students and students from non-partner schools.

Partner School Students – There are tiered rates for partner schools. Consult your home school representative for your tuition rate.

Housing costs range from $3,657 to $7,247. Please see our Tuition and Fees sheet for more details.

Scholarships are available. For priority consideration, complete your application by March 3rd.

Tiered Tuition Rates

  • Tier 1: $16,500 for schools with tuition rates below 75% of current AU tuition.
  • Tier 2: Home School rate for schools with home school tuition rates greater than $16,500, but less than AU’s rate.
  • Tier 3: AU prevailing undergraduate tuition rate for schools with home school tuition rates at or greater than AU’s rate.

Students may qualify for additional scholarships available based on merit and need.
