The Center for Environmental Policy has announced the winners of the 2017 William K. Reilly Awards for Environmental Leadership, Claire Barnett and Vannesa and Ben Henneke.
Claire Barnett is the founder and Executive Director of the Healthy Schools Network, a national 501c3 not for profit environmental health research, education, and advocacy organization.
Vannesa and Ben Henneke are the founders of The International Small Group and Tree Planting Program--an agriculture, tree-planting, sustainable development and carbon credit program that has succeeded in providing both economic development benefits and substantial CO2 reductions in a range of environments across Kenya, Uganda, India, and Tanzania.
Awards will be presented on March 30, 2017 at American University.
Jay Faison to deliver keynote address at William K. Reilly Awards, March 30, 2017
The Center for Environmental Policy announces Jay Faison, CEO and Founder of the ClearPath Foundation, as the keynote speaker of the 2017 William K. Reilly Awards.
Jay Faison is the Founder and CEO of the ClearPath Foundation, whose mission is to accelerate conservative clean energy solutions. ClearPath's Action Fund is dedicated to building support for political leaders that believe in conservative clean energy solutions through marketbased principles that capitalize on innovation. In the 2016 election, the ClearPath Action Fund helped elect 13 of the organization’s 15 endorsed Republicans. According to Faison, “Clean energy is good politics.”
Politico named Jay one of the top 50 “visionaries transforming American politics” in 2015.
Jay is also the Founder and Chairman of SnapAV, a high growth company that designs and distributes more than 2,000 audio-video related products to technology integrators worldwide. SnapAV has been named to the prestigious INC 500/5000 List, which ranks the fastest growing privately held companies in the US, for four years running. In 2013 SnapAV was acquired by General Atlantic, a leading growth equity firm.
Video History of William K. Reilly's Tenure as EPA Administrator
With support from the EPA Alumni Association, the Center for Environmental Policy produced a video history of William K. Reilly's tenure as EPA Administrator. Themes include water, land use and sustainability, climate change, political polarization and others. The Center hopes to further contribute to the history of EPA and other federal, state and local environmental governance. Watch the Video Here
