Skills Institutes

IC Skills Institute's: From Theory to Practice.

About IC Skills Institutes

IMI skills institutes are 2 day long professional development workshops. They provide both practical intercultural communication skills and theoretical knowledge to international human resource and business professionals, aspiring intercultural trainers, and students, as well as those with interest in training for overseas living and/or work. IMI Skills Institutes are different from traditional courses in that they are where theory meets practice, offering the opportunity to gain practical application in your field of study or work.

As a weekend intensive, skills institutes are held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, and often require some group work and light homework.

Student Testimonials

"The movement exercises helped bring the somatic back into learning. This was a lesson that I believe is crucial to introduce in conflict resolution."
-Creative Arts & Intercultural Conflict Resolution with Michelle LeBaron, Fall 2011

“The most helpful portion of this institute was the analysis/macro/micro model for setting up training sessions. Group projects were helpful because it was good practice + actually relevant to cross-cultural training.”
