The eagle-secure wireless network is available all over main campus, plus the East campus and other off-campus buildings. Please note that the Washington College of Law offers a separate wireless service on the WCL campus.
AU guests can use the AUGuest-byRCN wireless network for Internet access. More information can be found here.
Eagle-secure uses the latest 802.11n standard with 100-150 megabit per second throughput. The wireless architecture also takes advantage of an industry best practice distributed platform to greatly reduce the risk of large scale system failure.
If you have any questions about the eagle-secure wireless network or need assistance connecting to the network, please contact the IT Help Desk at 202-885-2550, firstname.lastname@example.org, or AskAmericanUHelp.
Protecting your Connection
Always check for the gold lock or "https" in the address field before transmitting your password or PIN over the network. You can also use AU's VPN service.
If you have an available internet connection, you can configure your device for eagle-secure before you connect to it for the first time, using the QuickConnect wireless configuration wizard. This is useful for configuring your device before you arrive to AU's campus. That way you can simply connect when you arrive.

To show you how to connect your computer to the eagle-secure wireless network from on campus, we have prepared a series of video tutorials as well as web pages with detailed instructions. There are instructions for each operating system, depending on your computer:
AU's wireless infrastructure is an enterprise class network. As such, the wireless architecture at AU is not configured to support certain kinds of personal wireless devices. Some examples include Chromecasts, wireless routers, wireless printers (except cloud-based printing), Apple Time Capsule, and other peer-to-peer devices.
Please Note: Access to the eagle-secure network is restricted to AU faculty, staff, students and registered visitors. Those who wish to log on to the wireless network will need to use their AU user ID and password.
