McDowell Hall is home to upper-class students, and the office of one Faculty-in-Residence.  McDowell Hall also hosts the North Complex Office, home to the Assistant Area Director and the Resident Directors of Hughes/Nebraska and McDowell/Leonard. The McDowell Formal Lounge, one of the largest programming spaces on campus, is located on the first floor of the building.  The McDowell Common Room (a quiet study space), the North Area Recreation Center, and a computer cluster are also located in McDowell Hall.
