Welcome to Disability Support Services

The mission of Disability Support Services (DSS) is to ensure that students with physical, medical, or psychological disabilities have equal access to university programs and services. DSS provides and/or coordinate a range of services and accommodations to meet needs of students who are impacted by specific disability.

Please note that students with learning disabilities or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder should contact the Academic Support Center at 202-885-3360 or asc@american.edu. Faculty and staff who are seeking accommodation for a disability should contact Human Resources.

The Workforce Recruitment Program will be hosted at American University again in the Fall 2012. This program is sponsored through the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Employers in the private and non-profit sectors can gain access to the WRP's pool of candidates through the Employer Assistance and Recruiting Network (EARN) (www.earnworks.com/wrp), a free service of ODEP.

Interested students should contact Jessica Carter, Employee Relations Coordinator in the Career Center at 202-885-1814 for information about registration.
