Alcohol Transports
Students who are found to be excessively intoxicated on campus may be transported by ambulance to the hospital. Because of the risks to the individual and the university community, students who are transported may be subject to the following sanctions:
First Transport
-
Students will be required to meet with the Health Educator in the Student Health Center to discuss the incident and how to reduce the risk of further incidents.
-
Students may have to attend an alcohol education program. This will be decided on a case by case basis.
-
Students' parents or guardians will be notified of the incident.
-
Judicial charges will not be filed unless additional university policies were violated during the incident.
Second Transport
-
If a student is transported for a second time, judicial charges will be filed. The student will have to participate in an alcohol and drug evaluation off-campus and will have to comply with recommended treatment.
- Parents will be notified.
For more information on the university's alcohol policy, please consult the Student Code of Conduct. If you have questions, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at 202.885.3300, 408 Butler Pavilion.
